Fal River Walk - 1st June 2008
Stunning scenery, four boat trips and a Cornish cream tea is the reward for the first 200 people who sign up for the second Fal River Walk, which is being held on Sunday 1st June 2008. The Walk which forms part of the Fal River Festival, is being organised by The Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen and aims to raise £20,000 for some great local causes by asking each of the 200 walkers to try and raise £100 in sponsorship.
You can make an online donation through the Just Giving website and ask friends and family to sponsor you by credit or debit card from anywhere in the world - just click on http://www.justgiving.com/rctb and follow the easy steps
The proceeds will be channelled through the Rotary Club of Truro Boscawen Trust Fund benefiting The Precious Lives Appeal, ShelterBox, The Funchal 500 Tall Ships Regatta and other good causes.
The 14 mile circumnavigation of the Fal will start from the Park and Float car park at Ponsharden, near Falmouth at 10.30am and walkers will stride out along creek-side paths, country lanes and through part of the Trelissick Estate before crossing the estuary aboard the King Harry Ferry and ending up in St Mawes for a cream tea.
An all inclusive £10 day pass will cover all ferry crossings and celebratory cream tea in St Mawes.
